Sad Day for Amanda Lear
Sad day for Amanda Lear. The artist announced on social media on Tuesday, June 13th, 2023, that she had lost a long-time companion. On her Instagram account, she shared a photo of her beloved cat, a soft tigered feline with white paws, taking a nap on the bed. “Rest in peace my dear Chaussette,” she wrote to pay tribute to him. “23 years together, I’m so sad.” Living in Provence, Amanda Lear was able to enjoy the presence of Chaussette, who unfortunately leaves a big void now.
A Career on the Rise
To turn the page, the actress and singer can fortunately cling to some good news on her career. She is reportedly preparing a new album of French songs, she who whispered sweet words in Shakespeare’s language in the 1970s. “People keep asking me! My character with a high voice and who laughs at everything is very popular,” she recently told Télé Star magazine. “I’m always looking to surprise, to innovate.” A biopic retracing her career, including her time as a muse for Salvador Dali, entitled Queen Lear, was released a few months ago.
Financial Success
Financially, things are indeed going well for Amanda Lear… who could soon be rolling in gold. Luxury house Chanel bought the rights to her huge hit Follow Me for half a million dollars, even though it was released in 1978. “The new generation is discovering it,” the singer rejoices. “It’s currently one of the most sought-after titles on the Shazam app. And I’m number one on the hit parade in South Korea, more than 40 years after the release of the album Sweet Revenge!” A good part of the proceeds from this success should also go to her since she wrote Follow Me. The song was composed by Anthony Monn. Maybe Chaussette brought her luck one last time before taking his leave…
