Cannes Film: Carole Bouquet, Single & Elegant Caroline of Monaco’s Companion

On Saturday, May 20th, 2023, the Croisette was abuzz with excitement as the 76th Cannes Film Festival’s red carpet was unveiled. Martin Scorsese’s latest film, Killers of The Flower Moon, starring Robert de Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio was presented out-of-competition and drew a lot of attention. The presence of celebrities, such as Charlotte Casiraghi and Dimitri Rassam, and their famous mothers, Caroline de Hanovre and Carole Bouquet, caused a stir. The two women were infinitely elegant and were seen to be very close, as evidenced by the pictures in our slideshow. Carole Bouquet was returning to Cannes a year after her glamorous visit, now as a single after her separation from the powerful businessman Philippe Sereys de Rothschild. She was accompanied by Paul Rassam, a producer and the brother of Jean-Pierre Rassam, a producer who passed away in 1985 at the age of 43 and the father of Carole Bouquet’s eldest son, who was in Cannes as a filmmaker, just like his father. The two were there to present the documentary La Saga Rassam-Berri, the cinema in the veins this day, directed by Michel Denisot and Florent Maillet. Caroline de Hanovre and Carole Bouquet showed off their agreement to all with infinite elegance, just like at the Chanel show. What binds them more than anything else? A child, since they are both grandmothers of Balthazar (4 years old), second child of Charlotte after Raphaël (9 years old) – born from her former couple with Gad Elmaleh, and second for Dimitri who had a daughter, Darya, with his previous wife Masha Novoselova. At the 76th Cannes Film Festival, these two women were a shining example of unity and grace.
