Rumors have been circulating for some time now regarding the relationship between Dua Lipa and French director Romain Gavras, which was confirmed by a heart-shaped post on the singer’s social media stories. The couple made their official debut on the red carpet of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, at the premiere of the movie Omar La Fraise (The King of Algers), directed by Elias Belkeddar.
Since the end of her relationship with Anward Hadid, brother of model Gigi, in 2020, the pop star has not been linked to any other loves. This year, Dua Lipa will be the protagonist in Cannes for another official presentation: the “La Vacanza” collection, created in collaboration with Donatella Versace. The special show is scheduled for May 23, and the collection will be available in stores and on Versace’s e-shop immediately after the parade.
The Levitating singer expressed her excitement for the project: “I am very happy to have designed the Versace women’s collection “La Vacanza” together with Donatella. I have forged a strong bond with her over the years, and I am very grateful for the support I have received from her and the entire Versace team since the beginning of my career. It was a dream to be able to co-design this collection and express my idea of summer in complete freedom. I am very proud of this collection and I can’t wait for it to debut in Cannes.”
Romain Gravas, 41, and Dua Lipa were both dressed in black, looking very elegant. The French director did not skimp on smiles and tender looks with his companion, providing the perfect couple shots for the photographers. Gavras is mainly known for his work in the music world, particularly for directing the video (partly criticized) for Kanye West’s No Church in the Wild. He won the MTV Video Music Awards for Best Direction for the video of Bad Girls by M.I.A. and in 2018 he directed his second film distributed by Netflix, The World Is Yours. He participated in the last Venice International Film Festival with his film Athena.
