Giorgia Meloni’s Private Life

Giorgia Meloni’s private life has inevitably changed with her rise to Palazzo Chigi. And now the first woman Prime Minister of Italy, in an interview with Chi in which she drew up a balance sheet of the first ten months of government, has admitted that on the more personal side “there are many sacrifices, certainly”: “Sometimes I miss the daily life, the small things, even the simplest. My life has always been a race against time, but now it is like never before. That’s why I do somersaults every day to compress my crazy schedule as much as possible and carve out as much time as possible to be with my daughter Ginevra”. The seven-year-old girl is the fruit of love with journalist Andrea Giambruno. The two, who are not married, have been a couple since 2014.

A Race Against Time

This summer 2023, in addition to the blitz in Albania, guest of Prime Minister Edi Rama, Meloni managed to take a few days off with her family in Ceglie Messapica, in the province of Brindisi: “I managed to carve out a few days of vacation. I had to do it. It’s been more than two years since I stopped and, at a certain point, excessive fatigue can make you lose lucidity and concentration”. Hence the words of love of the leader of Fratelli d’Italia towards the Apulian region: “It is known that Puglia is one of my favorite destinations, if it were not that it is the main enemy of my diets”.

Ginevra’s Journey

In any case, Meloni then spoke of some of her official trips in which she took her daughter: “President Joe Biden was very kind to want to show Ginevra the White House. But many other leaders have also shown their attention and sympathy. Every time I think it’s possible, I take Ginevra with me, to spend some time together and to give her new experiences. With her by my side I feel stronger”. After all, Giorgia does not fail to mention and remember her daughter in many of her political arguments. “I am a mother” has also become a meme and a slogan taken up by anyone. In the middle of the election campaign, in September 2022, school had started and Ginevra, then 6 years old, had started first grade: Meloni had shared a message to her daughter on social media, to celebrate the first day of school: “Ginevra, today a new journey begins. A journey that will allow you to know, to learn, to grow, to dream and to become a great woman”.
