Kate Middleton: Cheering Wildly for Roger Federer at Wimbledon

Kate Middleton’s Tennis Skills on Display at Wimbledon

On the first day of Wimbledon, Kate Middleton showed off her tennis skills in a mixed doubles match with Roger Federer on the grass of the prestigious British tennis facility. She then returned to the Centre Court as the patron of the AELTC (All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club). She wore a pleated white skirt and a mint green jacket. Unfortunately, the match between the British number one Katie Boulter and the Australian Daria Saville was suspended due to rain.

Royal Family Reserved Seats at Wimbledon

Kate was then forced to move to the royal box, a stand reserved for members of the royal family, which has a covered roof. Roger Federer was very close to the princess and her husband William, and it was he who gave the first tennis lessons to the eldest son George, as revealed by the champion himself some years ago.

Unexpected Controversy at the Royal Box

The royal box at Wimbledon has recently been at the center of an unexpected controversy involving Kate’s family, who would have been denied access to the most coveted seats of the sports complex. This would have happened in 2017, but the story only came to light in recent days, coinciding with the start of the tournament. On July 10th, for the quarterfinals between Andy Murray and Benoit Paire, Carole and the younger sister Pippa arrived too late at the facility and were “downgraded” to other places, for technical and organizational reasons. An embarrassing situation, which would have made the Middletons furious, who are always present when it comes to royal events. Exceptions, however, do not seem to be contemplated even for them, in some cases the rules really apply to everyone.
