Florence Bergeaud-Blackler receives prestigious award
She will not soon forget June 1st 2023. Indeed, Florence Bergeaud-Blackler received the prestigious award from the Revue des Deux Mondes in Paris. It was Aurélie Julia, director of the review and Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière, honorary president and owner of Webedia, the publishing company, who presented her with the distinction for her work entitled Le Frérisme et ses réseaux, published by Odile Jacob. Created in 2008, this award aims “to make known an essay published in the year in French, both for its literary qualities and the relevance of its subject in the contemporary debate of ideas”. Florence Bergeaud-Blackler, a researcher at the CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research) was very moved during this award ceremony: “I am happy and proud that the award of the Revue des Deux Mondes will crown my book, the fruit of a scientific research that I have conducted for more than twenty years, often in solitude or even in adversity,” said the writer, declaring that “this prize honors the daily struggle for academic freedom, research and teaching, and all those who lead it”, she explained.

The night before, a dinner at the Cercle de la Revue des Deux Mondes was orchestrated by Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière, the honorary president of the award ceremony, organized at the Cercle de l’Union Interalliée in honor of Laurent Wauquiez, President of the Auvergne – Rhône-Alpes Region. At their side, Lu Shaye, Ambassador of China to France, Hélène Carrère d’Encausse, Secretary Perpetual of the French Academy, Yamina Benguigui, Franz-Olivier Giesbert, General Jean-Louis Georgelin, Vadym Omelchenko Ambassador of Ukraine to France and Menna Rawlings, Ambassador of the United Kingdom.
