Madonna Postpones World Tour
Those who were expecting to see Blonde Ambition at Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona next November 1st will have to wait. Madonna has postponed her world tour ‘The Celebration Tour’ due to a serious bacterial infection she contracted on June 24th that led her to be admitted to the ICU for a few days. Apparently, her health is improving but she is still under medical supervision and it is expected that her recovery will be slow.
The Effort to Keep Up With Other Artists
It seems that during the rehearsals of her tour, Madonna made an effort to keep up with the pace of younger artists like Taylor Swift, who gives concerts of more than 3 hours, or Pink, reaching the physical limit for a 64-year-old woman like her. Madonna’s thinness during the rehearsals worried her entourage. It was this effort to try to keep up with the pace of the most recognized artists in the industry that led to her sudden collapse and had to be admitted to the ICU for several days, according to ‘The Sun’.
The Risk of Stretching Too Much
A source close to the singer revealed to the New York Post that stretching so much was extremely risky for the singer. “She was working overtime, but clearly she burned out and the people around her have been politely reminding her that she is no longer 45, let alone 25,” this source explained.
