There are those who say that, among the various charities to which Prince William devotes his activity, there is one particularly dear to him: Centrepoint, an association that helps homeless young people throughout England, with the far-sighted goal of definitively eliminating the problem of young homeless people by 2037.

The association, before relying on William’s support, had Princess Diana as its reference point: it is with her that, as a child, the prince went to visit Centrepoint, and it is clear that the link with the work done by this reality is still strong for him.

“Keeping Diana’s work alive, Prince William plays an active role in all aspects of Centrepoint,” reads the website of the charity. “He also helped young people directly when he spent two days as a volunteer in our reception services. Working with young people to discuss their situation, review their personal development plans, resolve their housing allowance requests and find permanent accommodation, William used his special way of connecting with people of all backgrounds, making them feel comfortable.” To confirm a particularly felt cause, just a few days ago William participated in the opening of Reuben House, a new home designed by Centrepoint to provide accommodation in thirty-three apartments for young people in difficulty between 18 and 24 years. The idea is to offer these kids shelter, taking them off the street and providing them with a first support for building a new life. The Prince of Wales personally visited the apartments of the structure, calling them “seriously smart” and met some guests of Reuben House, stopping to listen to their stories. William, who is expected to announce an important project on the homeless at the end of this month, has stated that he hopes that the Centrepoint initiative will be used as a model throughout the United Kingdom.
