A Matchmaker Set in Un Posto al Sole
He was Andrea Pergolesi, a photographer of beautiful hopes a bit of a butterfly. She was Carmen Catalano, an aspiring singer with a sweet voice and sometimes naive and questionable choices. It was the beginning of the 2000s, and Serena Rossi and Davide Devenuto were two regular presences of the new generation of Un posto al sole, the super long-lasting Rai soap that over the years has told a slice of Italian and Neapolitan life. The two meet on the set and – despite the script at one point also predicting a liaison between the two – they don’t get along very much, as they admitted years ago in an interview.
A Long Love Story
Yet, shortly afterwards, they fall in love. The set of Upas was the matchmaker, which gave rise to a long love story, crowned with a son – Diego – and with a marriage, arrived these days in great secrecy after fifteen years from their first meeting. According to the sources of the weekly magazine Diva e Donna, who stole a shot of the very private moment, Serena Rossi and Davide Devenuto have indeed married with a small ceremony held in Rome, among very few friends and relatives. She with a simple but delicious white dress and he with the inevitable look of an eternal boy, in blue dress but with sneakers and white t-shirt under the jacket. Special guest, very elegant in white shirt, the little Diego, born in 2017.
A Surprising Wedding
The wedding comes suddenly after years of waiting: already in 2019, in fact, Davide had asked Serena to marry him intervening live during an episode of Domenica In in which she was a guest to present the biopic on Mia Martini in which she was the protagonist. Then, perhaps due to too many commitments or perhaps because they had already formed a family together (the same Serena Rossi had said she was happy like this), the marriage had been postponed. Until today, when the two officially said yes.
