The Royal Family of Bhutan Welcomes a New Member

Queen Jetsun Pema and King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck welcomed their third child, born on September 9. The announcement came from official channels of the Royal Palace, including social media. “We are honored to share the wonderful news that Their Majesties have welcomed a healthy baby girl,” reads the statement, which notes that the date of birth of the little girl coincides with the 25th day of the seventh month of the female water rabbit year. The Royal Couple’s Older Children

The girl, whose name is not yet known, was born at the Royal Palace of Thimphu, the Capital of Bhutan, and comes after two boys: Jigme Namgyel, 7 years old, heir to the throne, and Jigme Ugyen, 3. The news of Jetsum Pema’s third pregnancy was officially announced on June 14, although there were some suspicions already, thanks to the rounder forms of the sovereign at the royal wedding of Al Hussein of Jordan.

Awaiting the Official Debut of the Royal Baby

As with every royal event, however, this also required an official communication, which arrived three months after the birth of the little girl. To see the first photos of the baby and learn her name, probably, you will have to wait a few more weeks, as happened with the older brothers. The second son of the Bhutanese royal couple, for example, was presented to the subjects only three months after his birth, on the occasion of the Guru Rimpoche festival. All that remains is to wait for the official “debut” of the new royal baby. It will certainly be a great joy for everyone.
