Relaxing Destinations for the British Royal Family

It’s time to relax, even for royals. And members of the British royal family, like all common mortals, have favorite places where they love to spend their holidays. Among the favorites of King Charles III and Queen Camilla is the Birkhall estate in Scotland. Charles inherited it upon the death of his grandmother, the Queen Mother, in 2002. And it seems he went there on his honeymoon with Camilla in 2005. Another refuge much loved by the sovereigns is Highgrove House, the family home two and a half hours from London designed by Charles, an avid gardener, to spend stays “in harmony with nature”.

William and Kate’s Favorite Summer Destinations

Just 15 minutes from Highgrove is Ray Mill House, Camilla’s private residence in Wiltshire. The Queen bought it in 1996 after her divorce from Andrew Parker Bowles and lived there until 2003. Despite her husband’s numerous properties, Ray Mill House still holds a special place in her heart and seems to be the favorite meeting place for her children and grandchildren. Royal fans have glimpsed the estate’s gardens last summer, when Camilla curated a special edition of Country Life and had some photos taken by Kate Middleton for the occasion. William and Kate also have their favorite summer destinations. For example, the Prince of Wales and his three children, George, Charlotte and Louis, take a few days off each year to the Scilly Isles, a small archipelago off the coast of Cornwall where they were photographed by the Mirror a few years ago while cycling, smiling and relaxed, greeting the locals as if nothing had happened. The Scilly Isles have a special meaning for William, who spent a holiday there with his mother, his father and his brother thirty-two years ago. On that occasion, constantly pursued by photographers, the four posed for a cycling shot. A memory that will certainly be one of the dearest for the heir to the throne before his parents’ marriage broke up in worldwide clamor. Still among those breathtaking cliffs, clear beaches and transparent waters, William would have taken his wife Kate during their honeymoon in 2011. Another place of the heart of the Prince of Wales is Jordan, a land where Princess Kate lived from 2 to 4 years for her father’s work at British Airways and where the Prince of Wales also wanted to take their children at the beginning of 2021. We were able to take a peek at this trip thanks to William and Kate’s social postcards.

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s Honeymoon

Princess Beatrice of York and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi were spotted, in recent days, in Saint-Tropez, one of their favorite summer destinations. France is a special place for the couple, who also spent their honeymoon there after their wedding in July 2020.
