Besides family, the closest person to Silvio Berlusconi – who passed away on June 12th at 86 years old – was Marta Fascina, his companion since 2020 (the two celebrated the bond between them with a symbolic “marriage” in March 2022). During Berlusconi’s long stay at San Raffaele Hospital, the Forza Italia deputy was always by his side. At the funeral, the world saw her in tears with her gaze fixed on the coffin. Now some of her friends have revealed to Corriere della Sera that since the Cavaliere’s death, Marta is not at peace. She doesn’t leave Arcore anymore and has very few contacts with the outside world: “Those who care for her are quite worried about this girl. She can’t come out of this situation, she can’t come to terms with Berlusconi’s death. She lives immersed in mourning”.

Very few political interlocutors (she has spoken to Antonio Tajani and Matteo Salvini on occasion); her daily conversations are with her parents, Silvio Berlusconi’s children (“I talk to them all indistinctly, both the older and the younger ones,” she explained privately) and some friends. But no one can convince her to leave Arcore, where she is only accompanied by the dog Dudù, who wanders around the house as he did when the Cavaliere was still alive and who will stay with her in any case, whom she now considers “my dog”. The Forza Italia deputy has been absent from the Chamber since November, since Berlusconi’s hospitalizations began. And for now, there is no talk of politics. At first, Corriere della Sera reveals, she thought she could at least appear at the first national council of the post-Berlusconi azzurro, which was held a few weeks ago in Rome, to make the family’s presence felt in the party. She couldn’t make it. She stayed at Villa San Martino. And from there, two days ago, she broke the silence with a tormented social message dedicated to Berlusconi: “In a blue sky where there is peace and love, flowers grow everywhere. I stretch out my hand, I want to touch yours but they can’t come together. I miss you, my love. God, how I miss you,” she wrote on her WhatsApp profile.
