Divorce Announced Last Month
Irreconcilable differences: this would be the reason that caused the divorce between Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef, announced last month. This was not actually a decision taken out of nowhere, but a very well-thought-out one according to what the artist revealed in an interview with Telemundo; even from several years ago: “We have been planning this situation for a long time, before the pandemic,” he said. Certainly a difficult choice, especially considering the two children – Lucia and Renn – that the couple have together.
Raising the Children Together
And, precisely in relation to the two children, Ricky Martin explained that the crisis period they went through before the divorce was never made public in front of the little ones at home and that the arguments, if any, took place in their bedroom. Martin (with two other children born through surrogacy), 38 Yosef, in the near future intend to raise them together and are preparing everything so that there is joint custody. A divorce, that of Martin and Yosef, which is the result of a long painful period to which the singer refers but which now does not seem to have left any traces of hatred between the two: “We will always be a family,” he said; adding that the relationship would be more than friendly: “We look each other in the eyes and smile, we hug, we face highs and lows, we cry together, we laugh together”.
Open to New Love Possibilities
After seven or eight years of relationship (the marriage was celebrated in 2017), Ricky Martin now says he is open to new love possibilities: “I want to feel good, I want to enjoy life. Let’s take it easy, but yes, I see myself in a new relationship. I’m not talking about a near future, but I like being in love, I like relationships”. Yes, with all that entails, from waking up next to the person you love, to having breakfast together and complicity. During the interview given to Telemundo, Martin also made reference to the accusations – later withdrawn – of harassment received by his nephew in recent months, saying he was mainly worried about the pain his parents had to feel, not so young anymore. But beyond that, the actor seemed serene and confident in his imminent professional and sentimental future.
