Love Story in the Balance
Is the love story of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck in the balance? Gossip has been circulating for months, and now a new clue has emerged to confirm the rumors. J. Lo, to promote her latest film The mother, participated in a live TV show. At one point during the program, she was asked how things were going with Ben. She, with a grim expression, listed a series of faults of her husband: “He’s not an easy man, he always has something to say about what I wear and when I’m low cut he asks where the rest of the blouse is and then he wants to decide everything, he’s very heavy”. Not exactly the words one would expect from a woman living a love story. Jennifer’s words, moreover, come after several other indications of crisis. The latest one a few days ago, when the two were filmed arguing in the middle of the street (and the video went viral). Before that, last February, a quarrel during the Grammys had caused a stir. The rumors of marital storm, however, had been circulating for some time.
The Problems After the Wedding
The problems, according to gossip, would have started shortly after the wedding, which was double (first the secret marriage in Las Vegas, then the pompous “yes” in Georgia). According to some sources, in fact, as soon as the two found themselves with a wedding ring the magic would have faded and obvious incompatibilities would have emerged: “Before the wedding she seemed like the perfect wife and he was blinded by love, then reality took over”. And reality, like for all couples, is also made of misunderstandings and fights.
Is the Fairy Tale Over?
But gossip, especially after Jennifer’s latest statements, suggests much more serious problems than simple skirmishes between lovers. The two stars – who had already said goodbye to each other in 2004 on the verge of the altar – according to the usual well-informed people are really at risk of breaking up. If the divorce really took place, for Affleck it would be number two – after the one from Jennifer Garner, mother of his three children – for JLo even number four. In fact, the pop star has collected three marriages ended badly: with the Cuban waiter Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998; with the dancer Cris Judd from 2001 to 2003; finally from 2004 to 2014 with the colleague Marc Anthony, from whom she had the twins Emme and Max. Not to mention that in 2021 she had come one step away from the altar with her then boyfriend Alex Rodriguez. After so many storms, in the summer of 2021 Jen had the fairytale twist: the return of the flame with Ben. Crowned in the summer of 2022 by double weddings.
