Michael Jeremiasz’s Triumphant Return

Michael Jeremiasz was delighted to return to his beloved sport and arrived at the Roland Garros French Open 2023 village with his wife Carolyn Aldridge and children, Mylo and Oscar Archie on June 2, 2023. Married to a physiotherapist, the athlete announced the birth of his baby on April 13th, revealing the tiny little foot of the infant. His family was complete and he posed with them, holding his youngest in his arms.

The Skiing Accident that Changed his Life

Former tennis player, he was also the subject of the documentary “Comme les autres” broadcasted on France 2 on May 5th, 2020, where he talked about the terrible skiing accident that happened on February 7th, 2000, which caused him to lose the use of his legs when he was only 18. In 2018, he told Brut: “The last seconds I have memories of, since I had a four-day blackout after my accident, is this last obstacle. I feel like there’s a wall, a white wall in front of me (…) I lost consciousness in the air (…) A kind of disjointed puppet, and then I explode on the ground. Instead of falling down the slope, I fall on the side. A fall of about 10 meters… And there, I broke both my legs and my spine”. Not ready to let this accident get him down, he won his first Paralympic medal, a bronze, at the 2004 Athens Olympics.
