A Royal Wedding in Amman

Prince William and Kate Middleton were also among the guests at the wedding of Jordanian Prince Al Hussein and Rajwa Al Saif, celebrated on June 1st in Amman. The presence of the Prince of Wales had not been anticipated as with other crowned heads, “for security reasons,” the Daily Mail revealed, a fairly common practice when members of the British royal family move for some event. That William would participate, in fact, was in the air, thanks to the great friendship that binds him to Al Hussein, while Kate’s presence was confirmed on May 31st, when the couple was spotted in the bar of a five-star hotel in Amman.

The Middletons on the Scene

Kate and William flew to Jordan on behalf of the Windsor House, but not alone: with them, also Beatrice of York, eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Absent, however, was her younger sister Eugenie, soon to give birth. The Prince of Wales were welcomed by Queen Rania and her husband Abd Allah II at Zahran Palace, where the ceremony took place. Enchanting Kate, in a light pink Elie Saab dress (the same brand chosen by the bride) and in a good mood William. After the “yes”, at the time of offering congratulations for the wedding, the couple stayed for a long time with the newlyweds, creating a small line. After the congratulations, change of clothes and everyone to the reception, which was also attended by Carole, Pippa and James Middleton, mother, sister and brother of Kate. A real surprise, no one expected to see them. For the wedding of their son Rania and King Abd Allah they really did things in a big way. What a party.
