Could a New Love Story Be Born?
Prince Christian of Denmark, the eldest son of Prince Frederik and Princess Mary, would be charmed by Italian Princess Maria Chiara of Bourbon of the Two Sicilies. The future King of Denmark, who will turn 18 in October, was spotted with Chiara, 18, at the Monaco Grand Prix. In a group photo posted on Instagram, the photogenic couple can be seen standing side by side, with Chiara’s hand resting on the prince’s shoulder. Chiara’s sister, Princess Maria Carolina, 19, is in the foreground, with a Dior bag casually dangling from her side.

In four months, Christian will celebrate his 18th birthday and is interested in having a real girlfriend, especially to ward off aspiring fans, but “he also likes the idea of having a real companion,” a source told Woman’s Day. The source seems to confirm that the two are romantically linked: “Christian is definitely taken by Chiara – it remains to be seen if she feels the same. For now they get along, both families are in agreement and they have similar tastes in music, sports and even movies,” but the news has not been confirmed by either party.
The Italian Noble Family
Nephew of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, Prince Christian is currently second in line to the Danish throne after his father. Princess Maria Chiara of Bourbon of the Two Sicilies is the youngest daughter of Prince Carlo, Duke of Castro, great-grandnephew of Francesco II, last King of the Two Sicilies. Prince Carlo, or Duke of Castro, is married to Italian heiress Camilla Crociani. The family lives between Monaco, Saint-Tropez, Paris and Rome and is very present in the international social circuit. Chiara and her sister often post on social media, documenting glamorous events with European royals, including the Danish royal family and the Grimaldi royal family of Monaco. Princess Mary and Prince Frederick are close friends of the family. Prince Carlo is godfather to Princess Josephine, their 12-year-old daughter, fifth in line to the Danish throne.
