A Close Bond with Her Son
Juliette Mayniel was born in Saint-Hippolyte on January 22nd, 1936. From her relationship with Vittorio Gassman, which lasted from 1964 to 1968, her son was born in 1965. After the separation when her son was only three years old, Alessandro Gassmann kept a close bond with his mother who, after leaving the stage, had been living in a small Mexican town, San Miguel de Allende, for about twenty years. She won the Silver Bear for Best Actress at the Berlinale for Story of a Deserter. With Vittorio Gassmann, the relationship began in the mid-sixties when he already had two daughters from his two previous partners. He had married Nora Ricci in 1944 and Paola was born in 1945. From Shelley Winters he had Vittoria who is a doctor in the US. Alessandro is Gassmann’s third child. After him, Jacopo was born in 1980, son of Diletta D’Andrea.
