A Documentary Series About War Veterans

Heart of Invictus, a docuserie about war veterans created by Archewell Productions of Harry and Meghan Markle, finally has a release date: it will be available on Netflix from August 30th. The streaming platform, with which the Sussexes signed a contract for about 150 million euros in 2020, has just released the first trailer of the five-episode project directed by Orlando von Einsiedel, awarded at the 2017 Oscars for the documentary The White Helmets. Heart of Invictus – which tells the stories of athletes participating in the Invictus Games, the war veterans’ games created by Harry in 2014 – was supposed to be released last year. But then nothing else was heard about it. Now we have a date and a trailer. The Duke of Sussex also appears in the footage, along with several athletes from all over the world. “From the beginning of the first Invictus Games in 2014,” Prince Harry said in an official statement in 2021, “we knew that each competitor would contribute in an exceptional way to the mosaic of determination, resilience and resolve. The series will offer communities around the world a window into the inspiring and moving stories of these athletes.”

A Project Close To Harry’s Heart

The release of Heart of Invictus – a project that is particularly close to Harry’s heart – comes at a difficult time for the Sussexes: their popularity, after continuous public complaints against the Windsors, is at an all-time low not only in England but also in the United States. And Harry has just been “downgraded” officially by Buckingham Palace (on the website of the British royal family, the second son of Charles III has lost, three years after Megxit, the title of “Royal Highness”). As if that were not enough, Spotify, with which the Sussexes had signed a contract for 15 million dollars, has recently dropped Markle due to the lack of success of her podcast Archetyphes. In recent months, British tabloids have speculated that the Netflix agreement was also in the balance. Apparently this is not the case. Harry and Meghan’s adventure on the streaming platform, thanks to Heart of Invictus, continues.
