A Different Life Than Expected
It must be said that Mary Pierce, who joined a Pentecostal community a few years ago, did not have the life she dreamed of: “After my career, I saw myself getting married, having children, taking care of my family and not traveling anymore. But that was never the case, so I still travel, I train,” she said wisely. It must be said that all the other players have become mothers around her: Amélie Mauresmo, in particular, had two children (Aaron and Ayla, 6 and 4 years old), just like Justine Henin, her former Belgian colleague, who also won the tournament in 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007.
